Five-year-old Heidi is brought to the Swiss Alps to live with her reclusive grandfather, Alm-Uncle, a man shunned by his village and hardened by grief. On the sun-drenched mountain pastures she flourishes—befriending goatherd Peter, tending goats, and coaxing warmth back into the old man's heart.
